City of São Paulo 2015 Trophy Race

On a sunny Sunday, more than 10 thousand paulistanos woke up early to participate in the XVIII São Paulo City Trophy 10 km Carrefour, which officially opened the festivities of the 461 years of the Paulista Capital.

The Pedestrian Race started promptly at 7:30. In its 18th edition, the São Paulo 10 Km City Trophy had the Kenyan Edwin Kiprot winner, with the time of 00:30:23. In second place, the Tanzanian Mejan Reginald Lucian with 00:30:31 and in the third place the Brazilian Rafael Santos de Novais 00:30:46.

In the women's game the victory was of the Tanzanian Failuna Abdi Maranga, with the time of 00: 34.00, followed by the Brazilian Tatiana de Souza Araújo with 00:34:28. Third, another Brazilian, Adriana Aparecida da Silva with the time of 00:34:42.

The Race is part of the Official Commemoration Events of the 461-year Anniversary of the City of São Paulo, considered one of the five most important events in Brazil.

It has the support of the Sports Secretariats of the Government of the State of São Paulo and of the City and São Paulo City Hall and institutional support of the Amo Correr Amo Brazil Institute.

According to José João da Silva, director of the Amo Correr Institute, Amo Brasil, and the first Brazilian to beat São Silvestre, supporter of the event "street racing is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. It was nice to see the city waking up in full birthday, practicing sports, health and citizenship. We thank all those who supported the initiative, "he concludes.
